Barlow Woodseats Hall Barn Wedding Photographer

14th November 2022

It’s a pleasure to highlight Ruth and Matt’s relaxed, outdoor, Wedding reception at the STUNNING Barlow Woodseats Hall Barn in the Derbyshire, Peak District. Their sweltering ceremony was held on the hottest day of 2019 at St Lawrence Village Church, Barlow, Derbyshire. Matt’s breakfast prep, also in Barlow at The Peacock (a lovely pub, I’ve since stayed there on a walking weekend and can confirm the food is lush)! Ruth and family were staying at the sympathetically renovated holiday cottages on site at Woodseats Hall. I was able to catching some lovely emotional moments at both. If you are looking for a unique venue I would highly recommend Barlow Woodseats Hall Barn in Derbyshire Wedding Photographer.

Unique barn venue

Helping couples feel comfortable enough to relax, lean into themselves and show their love. This is where, I feel, the magical photos happen. I mean, just look at the LOVE in these images! Not only between Ruth and Matt. The closeness with parents, siblings, friends and wider family was inspiring and heartwarming. I think love oozes from this Wedding gallery. I am ALL for showing emotion unapologetically and will ALWAYS take the shot when I see it!!

It was So hot, that Matt’s glasses steamed up in church and my make up had totally slid off by the signing of the register. The order of service’s doubled up as fans on full speed. The tweed suit for the groom and groomsmen was a particularly cozy.

Hottest day of the year in a VW camper

After church Ruth and Matt left for a short drive and quiet time with champagne in their Blue Pumpkin VW camper. The guests, many travelling a long way from Australia, Switzerland and Bermuda! Brother from Spain. (It seemed so easy back then, sigh). Were mini-bussed a short drive to the barn and prompted on arrival to grab a Pimms and create one of the best confetti tunnels ever.  R+M arrived to huge cheers and an absolute avalanche of fresh rose petals making a huge impact in the photos. (This is a reminder to always go big and colourful for your confetti!! Bio degradable doesn’t have to mean tiny  petals) (Confetti tips available in my new planning welcome brochure). We grabbed a few shots with the camper before he left, then photographed the congratulatory hugs and atmosphere (my fav) before organising a few group photos in the gardens.

Shepherds Pie

Realising we had sharer shepherds pies for Wedding breakfast was a funny moment. (I had to sit in my car, air con on full after eating)! The decision made to hold the speeches and desert outside making brilliant photos but I got SO hot I could not manage the G&T kindly gifted by Lee.

After desert Ruth, Matt and I wandered off for a few moments to catch that golden light before Jagermeistser shots all round in memory of Ruth’s Grandad. The heat seemed to intensify and the dance floor was a hot drippy MESS!! Such a memorable day.  I’ve loved creating this post, I’m smiling all over again.
