Alongside all of your “Wedding” happenings, the ceremony, the dress, the groups, etc. I look out for glimmers, moments and the stories within your day.

I understand every love, every family, every collection of souls who found each other is never the same. So, I never approach a Wedding in the same way as the last, but tailor my manner, approach and attitude to what and who I arrive to on the day.

Most couples who contact me feel exactly the same as you, worried about feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera and unsure how they will feel, not wanting to be the centre of attention. When I shoot a Wedding I not only concentrate on you, but the day as a whole and everyone involved, each person bringing something to the event and their sub stories within it. I hope you will see from my photos no one looks awkward or unsure and no one has been taken away from their guests for hours.

The collection of images you receive will be the moments and the people who matter to you, the sparks of joy, these remain to bring you back to the feeling.

DERBYSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

My vision and understanding of people, places and events is shaped by my lived experience and values. Built by personal struggles, triumphs, fails, connections, adventures, relationships, every art space, film, painting, love, music, book consumed and journey I have taken shapes my way of seeing. This is the Wedding Photography you commission. Nothing performative, staged or uncomfortable. Rise above the noise, of trends and particular styles. My images evoke connection, nostalgia, realness, they are true and poignant. Each image is part of you, an extension of your reality that will grow in value as time passes.

I work throughout the beautiful county of Derbyshire from the Roman spa town of Buxton and it’s historic crescent to the dramatic gritstone escarpments that rise above the moorlands of the Peak District National Park to the south low lands rivers of Trent and Derwent, the market towns of Melbourne, Bakewell, and Ashbourne. Country houses of a different kind Calke Abbey, Kedleston, Thornbridge and Haddon Halls. It’s rich industrial and culinary heritage, make for some amazingly unique Wedding venues within converted historic buildings, water pumping stations and stately homes.

Honing my craft as a photography student of darkrooms and developers, studio lighting and rolls of film, enabled me to gain experience within both mediums of modern digital photography and analogue film photography, which has undergone a huge resurgence in recent years particularly within the Wedding industry. Bring back £1 film, throw away cameras and 99p developing at snappy snaps!!
