Mike and Caradoc’s Pim Hill Barn at Lea Hall, Shrewsbury Wedding was a perfect Autumn day to photograph! The venue, couple, friends and decor. Built in 1584 Pim Hill Barn is the oldest original barn I’ve seen. The ancient wood interior is a beautiful, calm and welcoming space for a fantastic DIY celebration. The autumnal decor really suited this space. Mike and Caradoc got ready together in accommodation on site and opted for an extra Tipi outside the barn. Another Wedding day delayed 12 months by C****. The couple were SO excited to finally be able to marry.
A huge network of supportive friends were a massive help on the day, everyone had allocated specific roles and the day was planned to perfection. With everyone so happy to be celebrating together. Time away for portraits in the private gardens was so special. The speeches were beautiful but Caradoc’s so poignant. Thankful and grateful not only to be supported by family and friends but to be allowed to marry the love of his life. Only 32 countries allow same sex marriage, having only been legal in the UK for 7 years. I am beyond grateful to be chosen to photograph Mike and Caradoc’s Shropshire Wedding Day. Their love was a joy to witness.
The Wedding vibe was relaxed (once all the jobs on the spreadsheets were ticked off). Every detail had been considered, from the ring dish their god son carried, the ribbon patterns in the outbuilding ceiling, the old photo display, bunting, garden games, dried fresh mix floral displays by Caradoc’s Mum, the acoustic guitar during the day and band in the evening. The colour coordinated tweed suits and the subtle superhero table plan.
I met Mike when he was Best Man for his brothers Wedding (Emily & Alex, Dronfield Hall Barn in Derbyshire). It’s always such an honour (and a boost) to be chosen to photograph the wedding of family member of a past couple. Thank you for choosing me guys.
