West Mill Winter Wedding Photographer

17th March 2023

Charlotte and Laurence’s luxe black tie Winter Wedding was held at The West Mill, Derby. This frosty, bright December day was a beautiful way to end my 2022 Wedding season. It was a VIBE!!! I am not sure your eyes are ready for it. West Mill Winter Wedding Photographer.

Relaxed Portraits

When we chatted beforehand Charlotte and Laurence admitted they were worried about feeling uncomfortable infront of the camera. Can you tell? I don’t think so!! They totally relaxed into the day, trusted their suppliers, choices and our plan. We didn’t spend hours capturing these portrait images, just a moment upstairs after their ceremony before decending to the all white confetti tunnel. It was SO crisp outside they managed a few seconds at the top of the steps before rushing inside for drinks, canapés and family photos. Then a little later just before the first speeches (and after a little more warming champagne and me pointing out the dreamy blush sunset sky we took a very short walk by the river.

Why my Wedding Photography feels like you

I make it a priority (all year round) to find the best light and get you into it! Even just a split second can make all the difference. I also want you to enjoy plenty of time with your guests. I’m here to seek out and be ready to catch all the moments in-between. My unpressured, intuitive approach is why my Wedding Photography feels like you.

Luxe Dramatic Styling

I’m in love with the styling of this whole day. Katie at The Vintage that Could created such an opulent vision. The black tie dress code added extra drama and a special feel and that sparkle of dreamy sunlight was pretty breath taking. I may have been heard exclaiming look at the light over and over again whilst photographing pretty much everything from the details, table settings, group photos, couples photos until the speeches. There were ALOT of speeches!

Dance Floor

The entertainment was amazing, the dance floor filled straight away and never emptied. The Distractions band really keep the dance floor moving and all the guests involved and singing. They also played an acoustic set during the drinks reception. The FANTASTIC close up magician Christian Fletcher. A Photo Booth. A Kristy Creme Doughnut tower topped with a Ruby Lou’s cakes creation for the couple to cut. Also possibly my favourite hashtag of the year too #thebrideandcoombe

I am so grateful of this wonderful review – Thank you Charlotte and Laurence for choosing me.

“My heart could burst ❤️ I would highly recommend Jenny to any bride for their wedding day. She was a joy to have there and knew the venue (The Westmill) really well and suggested some beautiful shots. We chose Jenny because we didn’t want overly staged, posey shots and she absolutely nailed it. I cannot stop looking at them, she did an incredible job and captured the day exactly how we had hoped. Thank you Jenny!”
