A beautiful intimate Wedding at Yeldersley Hall, held July 2018. Predates covid by a long way, yet the images seems strangely familiar. Amanda and Adam waving into phones chatting to family who couldn’t attend. This was the English Wedding celebration. Having met in a London pub and fallen in love, Amanda from Canada, Adam from Heanor were legally married at the relaxed Yeldersely Hall. The lovely thing about Yeldersley Hall is the ability to hire the venue and accommodation over a full weekend, enabling you to create a DIY day. Guests travelling from Canada were able to make this their base for the whole trip and help with all the preparations and setting up for the big day. Getting everyone involved, I think, made the occasion even more special.
It was my first experience of shooting a “first look” and would urge everyone to consider one, especially if you are having a ceremony later in the day.
This wedding will always stay with me. The relationships between Amanda and her three best friends who had all made herculean efforts travelling from Canada to make sure they were there with her. The support and love from both sets of parents. Especially Adam’s knowing that he will making his life with Amanda in Canada after the day was so poignant and emotional. I think and hope this comes through in their photographs.
